During VMworld 2021, VMware announced that the vRealize True Visibility Suite 3rd party compute and storage management packs would be provided free of charge to all existing vRealize Operations customers. The only caveat was that these management packs wouldn’t be available until a future release. On November 11, 2021, VMware followed through on this announcement and released new versions of all of 20 compute and storage management packs. Customers can download these new management packs by accessing the vRealize Operations Management Packs VMware Customer Connect download page.
The following management packs are available for download:
Because VMware is now providing the 3rd party compute and storage management packs to all vRealize Operations customers, they have announced the end of availability for the vRealize True Visibility Suite Standard edition as this edition consisted primarily of these management packs.
Also, changes have been made to the Advanced and Enterprise editions as well. VMware has moved all management packs from the connectors category and the ServiceNow management pack to vRealize True Visibility Suite Advanced. Additionally, based on customer feedback, VMware is now offering new vRealize True Visibility Technology Modules which focus on specific use cases. These new vRealize True Visibility Technology Modules are separated into the following categories: Connectors, Network, Virtualization/Containers, Database, and Applications. Licensing varies based on the module, but generally, they are based on increments of 10 or 100 objects/instances monitored per year. Additional information regarding the suite editions and technology modules can be found on the vRealize True Visibility Suite product page.
Additional information regarding all of the above changes can be found on the VMware Cloud Management Blog post titled A Big Update for vRealize Operations and vRealize True Visibility.
